Hanging Tiered Cupcake Display

I am not a huge fan of cake, but there's just something about cupcakes! I also like the fact that this gives guests the option to choose their flavor. We wanted to have a display that refelcted our personality. During our engagement, we got hooked on some DIY-type shows which gave us some inspiration. We started watching Cupcake Wars just to see how creative people could get with their displays.

Since we love building and being crafty, we thought it would be cute to make a table out of sawhorses, with a teal tabletop to add a pop of color. To add more dimension, we thought it would be cool to have some cupcakes suspended on tiers made from wood and rope, held together by a truss made of steel pipe.

I seem to get inspiration at the most random places: During my bachelorette party, we were at a massage spa that had their products on wood planks with rope hanging from the ceiling. I took a picture of it and told Andrew that I wanted some hanging shelves like that for our home. Here we go again-taking something I originally wanted for our house, and getting Andrew on board to build it for the wedding...Haha... I like to look at it as killing 2 birds with 1 stone, since we get to repurpose all of these projects in our house afterwards. Woohoo!!! So awesome that we will be forever be surrounded by our labors of love from our special day!
