Our Story...

In the Fall of 2011, Michelle had been single for a while and was growing tired of the conventional ways of meeting people for potential dates. After much convincing, Michelle had decided to allow her good friend to create an online account profile on a dating website called eHarmony.

Andrew traveled a lot for work, and found that making time to meet new people was becoming more and more difficult. One day, he saw an eHarmony TV commercial that described a man who was exactly in the same position as he was. Thus, he joined eHarmony in hopes to meet his potential match.

Our eHarmony profiles were matched on September 8, 2011. For the first few weeks since being matched up, we talked for hours on the phone, just as if we’ve known each other our whole lives, and had so much to catch up on. At that time, Andrew was in New York, traveling for work. We would talk all night until the early morning hours, despite the three-hour time difference. Until this day, we still can’t remember half of the things we talked about…
We lost touch for a while--until a few months later, when Michelle had texted Andrew to greet him a Happy Thanksgiving. After a few more texts back and forth, we discovered that we both purchased homes in the same new development and that we were going to be neighbors!

From that moment on, we would feed off each other’s excitement of furnishing our homes and even went shopping together. The more we got to know each other, the more we found that many of our qualities, preferences, and overall personalities were more identical than we could ever imagine. It was the beginning of a great friendship.
By May 2012, Andrew realized how much he enjoyed hanging out with Michelle and admitted that he preferred to spend time with her over anyone else he had dated in the past. The feelings appeared mutual; and they both decided to start an exclusive relationship with one another.

We've found each other—thanks to some advice from our peers, eHarmony, a realtor, and a small stroke of luck. The rest, as they say, is history…

The Proposal

Andrew had planned an all-day celebration for Michelle on her birthday, taking place in downtown San Francisco. They started the day off with an awesome helicopter tour of the City--flying low near AT&T Park, Alcatraz and even underneath the Golden Gate Bridge!

Next, Andrew took Michelle on a romantic dinner cruise at the Pier. During dinner, Andrew had been secretly coordinating with Michelle's cousins, who were busy preparing a big surprise for her later that night.

After dinner, they ended the night checking into a hotel in the City. Upon entering the room, Michelle was presented with a cascade of flower petals, candles and printed photos of their journey together. A birthday cake was waiting for her in the center of the room, where Andrew proposed shortly after singing Happy Birthday to her.

Michelle: I was confused, overhelmed, and ecstatic all at the same time! It was so unexpected that all I could say was, "What the.....?! What the _____?!?!"

It was the perfect proposal from the perfect guy.

Andrew: It was like Mission Impossible! I couldn't have pulled it off without the help of her two closest cousins, JoAnn and Justin!
